A variety of different types of old rr equipment (passenger cars, cabooses, a wrecker, and freight cars) is being collected in Praire Du Chein, WI, at a couple of different locations.
Does anyone know of the plans for this equipment? A future museum perhaps?

That stuff has been there for years (minimum 10.) Unfortunately, I don't know what the purpose of it is. It may just be somebody's collection.

Hopefully someone plans on doing something with it soon. It's all in really sorry shape, and it would be a shame to loose so many pieces of historic equipment.

Hopefully someone will do something with it soon. It's in pretty sorry shape, and it would be a real shame to loose so much historic equipment.

A dozen years ago, an individual that operated a string of tourist oriented wineries in the Upper Mississippi Vally acquired cars to be used in his ventures. I believe he stored them at PdC. They had outlets in Galena, IL; LaCross, WS; and McGregor, IA. Baggage Car Burgandy from Wisconsin--the very idea gives me the DTs.

Hopefully someone will do something with it soon. It's in pretty sad shape, and it would be a shame to loose so much historic equipment.

The equipment at PDC is owned by Blair Dillman
of Prairie Sand and Gravel. He had planned on
using the cabooses for a motel. Several of the
passenger cars were used as a bar just north of
the US 18 bridge along the Mississippi River.
The cars got moved into storage a few years ago
after he moved the bar into the old MILW PDC
depot just east of where the cars were.
