Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being at the proclamation, made by Mayor Petti of Worcester, declaring this week "Mental Health Week". While completely unrelated to National Train Day, has any sort of municipal government bothered to recognize National Train Day? It's far to short notice to get some sort of proclamation by Mayor Petti for Saturday, but I'm thinking that getting some sort of recognition for National Train Day next year might be a worthy project. Last I checked, me and my amigos (sorry, el clase de espanol is kicking in) are waiting to see the initial outcomes of the North Brookfield Railroad project before we go ahead with a depot replica in East Brookfield. Maybe a movement to get it official recognition, at least on a local level, might be a good way to reignite the supporters of the original campaign.
