Moving passenger coaches by highway seems to be a vexing problem. This thread is for people to post recommendations of experts and companies who are good at that sort of thing. Who can you recommend? |

I've heard the names Silk Road and Mike Vincenzo offered as true experts in the business. I've managed the moves I've been responsible for with a combination of local riggers and commercial independent truckers found viia grapevine and network. dave |

In the eastern half of the country, Daily Express out of Carlisle, PA, is well known for moving railroad equipment. I believe they have handled almost all the cars trucked into Durbin, WV, for the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad. Note that they are principally a trucking company - you still need to arrange riggers and cranes at origin and destination. Alan Maples |

Will Harris of North Fork, Inc. out of Goshen Va. has handled a lot of railroad equipment moves in this area including passenger cars, the "Lost Engines of Roanoke" and most recently New Hope Valley #17 to Roanoke & back from Bonsal, NC. He is a railfan, a member of the Roanoke Chapter NRHS, and a Board member at VMT. (and also one heck of a nice guy) |

I can recommend Silk Road, Daily Express and J Supor & Sons. All three excellent companies to deal with, especially Daily. |

We also used Mike Venizia and Daily Motor Freight for our move 6 years ago. It worked out well. Don't cut corners to save a few bucks as it will come back and bite you. These guys knew the ropes and how to get the permitting, cranes, car loaded and blocked and secured for the move. These guys are the professionals. |
