I was wondering about that. Has the restoration been completed. I remember reading a "Trains" edition magazine about her ans she was last reported to be almost done and is still in the process on finding somewhere to operate her.

The guys are "tweaking" various parts, a crankpin has to be installed and she is due for an "annual" even though she hasn't moved. There has to be broken rail replaced and numerous ties have to be replaced on the track she is sitting on. Of course, you guys can always send money to help. Project 113 is a not for profit 501 (C) (3) corporation.

As it has been explained to me by several individuals, the boiler was completed prior to doing much of anything on the running gear. So now the running great work is under way.

Cheers, Jason

The running gear appears to be in reasonable condition. We will start operating the locomotive and observe what happens. The coal company replaced a number of parts. Of course, one never knows what we can run into when we start operating her. Remember, this is not a high speed locomotive.

Sure you can't get it up to 130 mph?

Bernie,

A proper inspection performed by a knowledgeable set of eyes will render accurately the overall condition of the locomotive. So, one can know but just not in this case.....

Bernie,

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the #113. Many of us are eagerly waiting to see her return to service and anxious to have an opportunity to ride behind her. Thank you for sharing the information you have shared here and please keep us posted.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

I second what Tom said.

I remember the 113 just rusting away on track 4 at the W&W shop, so anything since then has been great progress.
