Could someone explain why an "in-service" SD-90MAC (6000 HP H engine) would be for sale for $275K? I know those things had issues but the price seems crazy low. Or not?? It would make an "H" of a backup generator.

Hmm...Greenbriar?

It would be helpful if more sellers would include prices in their ads.

Seems to be working well. Thanks for your effort in keeping this very useful site online.

Doesn't work well at all. I just tried posting an ad and it comes back "name too long". OK, so I'll shorten the name. Alas, there is no "name" field!

Oh well. Anyways, if anyone has a set of arch bar trucks available, any condition, I'm looking for a set.

Here is the email I received concerning Railswap. This may also help explain why some people are having issues trying to post new ads:

Dear RailSwap.org user

Unfortunately, the hosting company for RailSwap.org apparently broke it by
doing some "upgrades" to their computers about 4/28/2012, preventing new
ads from being posted since that time.

I therefore decided it was time to migrate RailSwap.org to new database
software. Finding appropriate software that is affordable has not been
easy. The task of migrating data from the old software has been rather
immense.

The site is now up for test purposes and I would like you to try to use it.
As of now, NEW users cannot join. Once I confirm things are working ok, new
users will be allowed.

The direct path is...
http://railswap.org/osc/classifieds/

Things to know:

* Log in using your email address and the password you had before.

* If you forget your password, click on the "forgot my password" link. As
long as your email is in the system, you should be allowed to reset your
password.

What I'd like you to do:

* Log in and select your location under "my account". At least choose
country and state. If your city doesn't come up, don't worry about it for
now. The list of states and cities can be a little slow to come up. Start
typing and it should appear after a few letters.

* If I have not transferred the photo for your ad, please do so yourself. I
can only move them manually, which is a real burden.

* Please fill in a PRICE if you have one.

* Feel free to MOVE YOUR AD TO A BETTER CATEGORY! We now have LOTS more to
choose from.

Please note!

* OSClass software is a free, open source, community developed program. It
is NOT perfect. You will find some features do not work or have glitches.
The software will improve, and we have the opportunity to influence its
direction. Please be understanding!

* Contact info (phone, website, address) does NOT show up in the ad
listing. You must CLICK THE AD POSTER'S NAME to see the contact info. That
may change in the future. PLEASE DO NOT PUT CONTACT INFO INTO THE AD
BODY!!!

* I think you will quickly see that OSClass is a huge leap forward in
technology over the old site. In coming months, it should get even better.

* If you have significant issues with the site, please send me a comment
using the link at the bottom of the site pages. At this point, PLEASE don't
overwhelm me with minor complaints.

Thank you for your assistance in making this painful transition!

Regards,

Paul G
