We've updated the website for Locomotive 169, and made some revisions to our Facebook page as well.

During Volunteer Week #2, we started installation of the new cab floorboards, removed the brake rigging, and (of course) gave the 'nickel tour' for visitors to the pavilion.

Visit us at http://www.friendsof169.org for more details.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing. I would suggest to include a little more information as to the overall scope of the project. I assume from reading the timeline she is to be restored to operation but it is not clearly stated anywhere I can find.

Post subject:  Locomotive 169 - Long-term Plans

Good morning, Tom,

Good point on outlining the scope of the locomotive project.

The 169 is owned by the Alamosa Chamber of Commerce/Alamosa Chamber of Commerce, and any work done is coordinated with those organizations.

In general, the short-term plans are to preserve and maintain the locomotive, but with a long-term goal on returning her to operation.

The Friends of the 169 have been updating the website, and we're always evaluating its content. I'll be sure to bring your suggestion up at the next Board meeting (07/16/12).

Thanks for writing!

-Jim
