Some old-time cab cookery at Thomaston on Sunday morning, fried eggs and toast. Fast food, 1930-style: Attachment: DSC_2967.JPG [ 39.71 KiB | Viewed 2948 times ] First, the toast; about 30 seconds for that, says Al G, morning fireman. Then: Attachment: DSC_3029.JPG [ 48.16 KiB | Viewed 2948 times ] Lard, not butter. Also, much more "authentic" and "period". Viola: Attachment: DSC_3031.JPG [ 56.89 KiB | Viewed 2948 times ] One flip of the wrist and pan, then--- Let's Eat!! Al is very good chef; he does veer towards the exotic though (his own-made kimchee, for example), and it was nice to see something more mainstream and palatable (aka "normal"). This was apparently the very first time there has been food cooked aboard Flagg Coal 75, according to John & Barney Gramling. They both enjoyed Al's creations. And John & Barney had a certain "food adventure" themselves the previous night for dinner. Howard P. Four Food Groups, CT |

Just don't turn the blower on while the food is in the firebox... |
