I stumbled across this while I was updating material for my coal mining book...

http://industrialrail.5u.com/

A lot of the links have been "coming soon" for a while, which makes me think they do most of their business on Facebook (sigh), but what's there is interesting. The "lost" 1918 locomotive came from a mine a few miles from here.

They are still active, they just down post much anywhere, including facebook.

They have been working on some neat stuff and I would venture a guess that most of their silence falls under the "loose lips" catagory.

Glad to hear they're working, because the stuff on the site is very well done. That tiny locomotive where the battery box is bigger than the rest of it--and the rest all fit on one pallet!--was a spectacular save.

I'd like to see some of their other restorations. A continuous miner is one of the scariest-looking machines ever built. Undercutters don't do badly at that, either--giant chainsaws on wheels come straight out of horror movies.
