Video of FVHRS pouring babbitt into a new motor bearing. All eight new bearings will be done. The 5x9 journal bearings have been done.
It is expected the rehabilitated motors will be attached this coming week. As we are moving our operation to a new location at the end of July we need the trucks back to place BCER 1225's body onto them in order to move the car our of our current car barn for transportation to the
new location. Testing of the car will begin in September and full operation on Canada's Victoria Day long weekend next May, 2013. For full update to our progress: http://www.fvhrs.com

Cool......couple questions:

Are you line boring all the bearings at once or doing each seperately?

What shaft clearance are you using?

We are doing each bearing seperately.
We are following the quidelines mentioned in "Orange Empire Railway Museum
Streetcar / Interurban Truck and Motor Clearances for Conventional Cars" brochure.

Hope this helps

I've found that when I do them seperately I need a bit of extra clearance. Old worn out mill. Now if I can find that old book..........
