Fellow Railfans,

May I respectfully suggest that as many as can do so send Mr. Wick Moorman a short personal thank you note for all he and NS are doing to celebrate their proud heritage through the 21st. Century Steam program and the Heritage diesel efforts.

As we're all well aware the corporate policy at NS did a 180 degree come about when Mr. Moorman took the helm and it seems to me that we owe him a show of our gratitude.

His contact info follows.

Thanks in advance.

Mr. C.W. Moorman, Chairman,President&CEO
Norfolk Southern Corporation
Three Commercial Place
Norfolk,Va.23510-9227

Thank you, Mr. Rowland. You are right on about thanking him and all the folks at NS. But let's keep it as a "Thank You" and not get overzealous and start telling him to rebuild other engines or how to run trains.

Let's show him that the railfan community is grateful and supportive for what Norfolk Southern is doing.

I think its very cool of them and tolerate some zaniness as well. But you can't beat the enthusiasm for a steamer, as well as a way to remind about the history.
Its even more zany by them to do all these Heritage units, by gum, now thats cool.
Now I wonder what the model makers will try on this...omeee

Ross offers an excellent idea.

Of course, offering to enjoy while respecting NS property would help too.

Ross, I'm planning on doing that on behalf of the ARHS. We worked with one of their people in Atlanta on the LV, CNJ and DL&W schemes. The CNJ heralds are basically the same as the ones which were used on our F-3's before we repainted them. The painters at EMD also did a great job with the nose repaint on the LV unit- they were very particular about the details. There was a miscommunication on the first paint job, but they did an amazing job with the changes.

I recently attended a social affair and by chance ended up sitting to someone who works in the NS executive offices. He told me that Mr. Moorman reads every personal letter he recieves and that they have a lot of meaning to him.

Therefore, I thought it worthy of again asking all who can to spend a few moments and write him a personal thank you note for all he's doing.

His mailing address is at the top of this thread.

Thanks in advance, Ross Rowland
