Post subject:  O.T.(Marine Preservation)--Delta Queen Photos

While looking for other photos of this boat for my own screensaver (and wanting to show my wife how this thing looked inside), I came across this site, with many photos, including a slide show through the boiler and engine rooms. Thought it might be of interest here--and yes, there's a steam lizard in there!

Home page:

Delta Queen page with slide shows, including construction photos (her hull, her first two decks and engines are from Scotland!) and the transit through the Panama Canal in the postwar era:

The Navy Net Tenders and Net Layers also enjoyed going to the TVRM, and the Inclined Railway, too:

Have fun.

Edit: Found this story as well, on the Delta Queen's calliope. Those who have worked at a certain trolley museum in New England will recognize an important person in the Queen's history.
