Last week, the 261 was hyrdro'ed for the FRA and passed with flying colors (Steve Sandberg's description). Reassembly is now moving cheerfully forward. Plans are to partially renew the jacketing, as it is put back on the locomotive. Steve cheerfully allowed that "coal smoke is in the near future" |

Was just over at the 261 today and they are making remarkable progress. We saw the cover go on the throttle bay and work pretty much done in the firebox. Also work was being done on completing installation of new M.U. controls. The locomotive is looking very good, indeed! |
