Hello, are there any updates on great western #75s restoration? Also i remember reading that the 0-6-0 #300 WAS supposed to be restored to operation but probably was just a rumor so that'd explain it. Was it ever supposed to be restored? Thanks. |

Here's a link to an update on #75 I posted back in April. Don't expect to see her in service any time soon. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33160&p=174528#p174528 |

Here's a link to an article about #300... it appears she was saved mid-scrapping and several major parts are missing, including the smokestack and the main rods. It would be a lot of work to re-fabricate them. With #75 still with much restoration work to be done, and #618 out of service and in need of her 1472-day inspection, I don't look for #300 to be restored to operation any time soon. She's currently on display near the HVRR depot where she's been since shortly after Heber obtained her. http://www.steamlocomotive.info/F62003.cfm |
