In the September issue of TRAINS Magazine, in the article about the DL Alcos, Don Colangelo mentions that the ARHS FA2 currently being worked on by the DL will eventually be used to power the DL's business train. Has the DL always had a business train and, if so, what rolling stock do these use? As far as I know, they don't own any passenger rolling stock.

GVT owns a former Conrail track analyzer car. It was in Utica until a few weeks ago but was last seen on CSX heading east - perhaps that is what you are talking about?

It is rare that D-L runs a business train, and almost all the Genessee Valley Trans. lines are close to a passenger operation of some sort. Mostly they use what is available locally. It seems everytime the Lehigh Valley 353 is on the line, someone from the rail authority or the D-L is taking a ride.

Makes sense. I imagine some of the ELDCPS equipment will probably be utilized in the future, considering the agreement the two entities have going on.

This is how internet rumors get going. Now someone else has probably posted somewhere that RYPN reported the D-L is restoring the FA and putting together a business train. The article that talks about the ACLO fleet and the D-L Chief Mechanic, Don Colangelo. Reread that paragraph about the FA unit.

He never says they are working on it, it's in the dead line. He says "I'm going to get that running one of these days". The difference between that and working on it is like the difference between night and day. The last sentence of the quote says; " She'll pull freight just fine with the added plus of hauling a company business train. Nice eh?"

He talks about it pulling freight and quips about a business train. He never says they have a business train nor does he say they are going to get one. I think most people will agree that if anything the inference is a business train of borrowed equipment.

I asked a simple question. No need to tear me a new one over it.
