As far as I know, the CP has a nascent heritage fleet of its own consiting of a Delaware & Hudson locomotive being kept in its original colors as well as a former Toronto, Hamilton, and Buffalo geep getting its old colors back. Well, I know for a fact they have a Milwaukee Road one as well, albeit an accidental one!

Check out this blog post of mine about it for the details and a pic:

Somewhere in my holdings was a company handout distributed after the D&H unit was repainted. In it they said they were going to have other heritage units, why there was no follow through I don't know.

Never mind the fact that CP still has a number of units in its fleet that qualify as historic in their own right, and likely have the biggest fleet of 567 powered engines in North America. Still on the roster are such gems as CP 1684, a 1950 vintage ex TH&B GP-7 (#74, builders # A-120) that still carries on switching duties at Toronto Yard !

There are actually three CP GP38-2's currently wearing the D&H lightning stripe scheme, CP 7303, 7304, and 7312.

All three were originally Lehigh Valley units, and went to the D&H in 1976, then
CP in 1991.

Several old MILW/Soo GP-40s still soldier on. Think the herald came from Photoshop on 2066?

She’s looking pretty sad but MILW/Soo 2016 is also still out there.

I could have swore I read an article about 11 years ago that said CP was only keeping one D&H unit in its orignal paint and repainting the other two as well as repainting a former TH&B unit as a new heritage fleet. Guess things didn't pan out?
