For anyone that is expecting to find tickets at the door this year, may find that the show is sold out. Pre-sales have nearly sold out the show. The show may be already sold out in advance. Any available tickets will be available at the door of the show on Saturday morning. However if it is completely sold out, tickets from no shows or cancellations will be sold on Saturday morning or at the door just before the show starts. Summerail has achieved a new level of popularity and this is the first sell out of the show in advance. Please plan accordingly for next year and order in advance. Our Train Show will also be sold out on tables for the show all day on Saturday. Please come on down and visit the Cincinnati Railroad Club and Tower A during the day on Saturday. Friday nights free extra slide shows will be open to all visitors at 8 pm August 11 . Expect a large crowd as another event will be held in the Rotunda from 4-8 pm. Dale Brown CRRC |

With the spectacular venue of Cincinnati Union Terminal, Summerail is one of the premier rail themed events in the country and is presented by the Cincinnati Railroad Club and the Miami Valley Railfans. Useless trivia... Cincinnati Union Terminal recently installed a killer 4-manual E. M. Skinner symphonic pipe organ with more than 4,000 pipes, dating from 1929! It was re-dedicated in March of 2011. Performs both solo and with an orchestra. The guys setting up Summerail ought to look into having someone perform on the organ when lectures are not going on. Walt Strony would be a good choice: http://www.waltstrony.com/index.html https://www.facebook.com/pages/Walt-Strony/199447710074473?ref=ts Mike

Thanks for the explanation of Summerrail. I live in the region and knew nothing about it. The organ at CUT is equipped with a digital console and plays recorded performances frequently. I believe it is every day the museum is open at 4pm? |
