Post subject: "Sightseeing" train hit by SUV?
PostPosted: Mon Jun 24, 2002 10:35 am

Just saw a little blurb in my local paper about a "sightseeing" train in Massachusetts being hit by a Nissan Pathfinder. Didn't say much else except that it was a 125 ton engine. Anyone else hear of this, who's RR and such?

Cape Cod RR. Idiots trying to beat a train to a crossing, and losing. Link to article below.

I think this qualifies as the dumbest rail accident of the year, those stupid kids should thank their lucky stars.

Another Kennedy related crash in Massachusetts (as Dan Ackroyd would say).

Hard to believe the idiots walked away. Almost too bad - shallow gene puddle from the sound of them.

I'm glad they did. I have no problem with the idiots in the shallow end of the gene pool taking themselves out, do we really need an engine crew undergoing therapy?

Saw a Subaru yesterday come WAY to close to Wilmington & Western 58. Another set of morons running the signals...

Go figure - anybody smart enough to choose Subarus as opposed to their much louder hyped competitors should know better.

Or maybe they were just Paul Hogan fans.

Never ceases to amaze me how many times I'll see people stop right on top of tracks, but often active, busy tracks, ( like a four track crossing in Granite City Il. that sees maybe fifty trains a day or more.) And they often appear to be locals that really ought to know better.

What's worse is when they stop on a crossing for the all important purpose to see if there's a train coming. I guess they feel it's not safe to look while in motion.....
