Awhile back someone here posted their displeasure with having to hear a carload of kids blowing that four-note wood train whistle. I think the Chinese have taken it up a notch. I spent the day out today with the little blue money machine. And I have encountered a new hideous sound maker for us old f@rts to contend with. http://www.trainparty.com/products/sch22105.html This thing isn’t just annoying, I think it could be measured to be dangerous. In the hands of a kid with good lungs it emits a high pitched noise just shy of that scream a seven year old girl can call on when she needs to stop everyone in a 50 yard radius. For the good of mankind this thing needs to be removed from the planet. |

Actually, the whistle you linked to is also a four-note whistle (look on the package). Those ones are fairly large and have a deeper pitch just like the better-quality wood whistles. I still have mine from when I was little, and they are actually pretty tough for little lungs to operate. The REALLY annoying ones are the tiny ones that fit in your palm. Those ones are shriekers. I try to tell the parents to go for a larger wood whistle. They last longer and help keep everyone sane. :) EDIT: I think that site is selling the small whistle, but has a picture of the big one. I know my larger whistle is identical to the one in the photo. |
