I found out today that we hired a company to do repair work on two of our bridges. Also the two C & O light weight passenger cars were pulled up to the engine house. The widows will be repaired and covered up.. They will be evaluated and one of them will be restored within the coming year.
We never can stop the vandals. The steam engine 060 is coming along. We are looking for the boiler to be coming back this year. The running gear is looking good. We usually have about 20 working one weekend a month on it and other projects. So things are looking good.

Sad to hear about the vandals. An iron bar to the back of the neck usually slows them up a bit.

Nice! Keep up the good work! Any chance you folks would be looking into C&O 701 (aka Hocking Valley 171) out of Covington, VA? I know there's a hefty expense in moving items like that and I would donate to that cause. Just a pipe dream thought. Please don't bash me :)

C&O 701 just received 1st Place in the Virginia Endangered Artifacts poll. While this award does not come with any money, it is a great boost to fundraising. Last year's winner was N&W 1776, which was subsequently awarded several grants, including the Trains Magazine. Preservation Award. It is now cosmetically restored. Interesting that railroad equipment has won two years in a row. I don't think 701 will be leaving this area, more likely, it will move either to the station in Covington or the C&O Heritage center in Clifton Forge.
