Here is a link to a blog post of mine about an office complex in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, that boasts a field of telegraph poles thanks to an abandoned Milwaukee Road line that passes through its front yard:

Amazing how pure chance sometimes saves rail relics even as humble as a telegraph pole, making them de facto museum pieces on de facto museum grounds IMO.

Upon reflection, I think the subject I posted here might be more appropriate for a general railfan forum as opposed to one strictly about preservation, so the moderators are welcome to delete this thread if they see fit.

Absolutely not, i found it fascinating, its ALL railroad preservation whether its a humble telegraph pole or a Chinese steam locomotive. Dont forget the poles came before the railroads were built, thats fascinating in itself.
