Here is a link to a blog post of mine about an office complex in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, that boasts a field of telegraph poles thanks to an abandoned Milwaukee Road line that passes through its front yard: http://www.tonyheld.hoboandbowser.net/t ... aph-poles/ Amazing how pure chance sometimes saves rail relics even as humble as a telegraph pole, making them de facto museum pieces on de facto museum grounds IMO. Upon reflection, I think the subject I posted here might be more appropriate for a general railfan forum as opposed to one strictly about preservation, so the moderators are welcome to delete this thread if they see fit. |

Absolutely not, i found it fascinating, its ALL railroad preservation whether its a humble telegraph pole or a Chinese steam locomotive. Dont forget the poles came before the railroads were built, thats fascinating in itself. Thankyou for posting and send more posts like it. Mike Pannell |
