The Buffalo Southern Railroad is proud to host the Viscose #6 for a weekend of excursions to commemorate the Town of Eden's BiCentennial. Trips are to be held September 22 and 23rd. Equipment will include private caboose(s), a Knox & Kane open car and 2 New York & Lake Erie Coaches. It is sponsored by the Buffalo Southern RR, Eden Bicentennial Committee and the Buffalo, Cattaraugus & Jamestown Scenic Railway Co with help from the New York & Lake Erie. The trip will operate on the freight only end of the Erie's BSW line between Eden and Hamburg town line (MP 19 and MP15). This is the first public tourist excursion (excluding the commuter trials from the early 80's). It is also the first time the north end of the line has seen steam since the Erie. Anyone know what year the last steam on the BSW might have been? I know one was brought on to the line for the filming of the Natural on the NY&LE, but it was brought in and out via the south end. See http://eden200.com for ticketing information. Pat Connors BSOR |
