Post subject: | Museum in the Streets, A Teaching Opportunity |
I just heard about this program and with a little research I found that the Minnesota Street Car Museum is fully involved in their local Museum in the Streets program. Here is one of the signs on Lake Street, Minneapolis: Attachment: Museum in the Streets Minneapolis low pixels.JPG [ 150.7 KiB | Viewed 2350 times ] To me it sounds like a perfect avenue for outreach from a museum's educational program by working with local communities to create a Museum in the Street that includes pictures and descriptions of current or former depots, freight houses, team tracks, yards, streets with streetcars or interurbans, etc. Here is the program's home page: http://www.themuseuminthestreets.com/ I found the FAQ quite helpful. |
