Many of us are aware of or even attend TRAIN/ARM Conventions during the year. There are other threads on the changes taking place in TRAIN/ARM this year. You can learn more about TRAIN/ARM by visiting their web page at:

http://traininc.org

However, for those of you across the pond, are you aware of WATTRAIN? This international group is meeting next week in York/Leeds, England at the National Railway Museum. The Congress begins on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 and ends on Thursday, October 4, 2012. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday on either side of the actual Congress meetings includes a variety of excursions and side trips. Notably, the A1 Tornado will be making a trip on Saturday. To learn more about WATTRAIN, see their web page at:

http://wattrain.wordpress.com/

Among the speakers at WATTRAIN this year are John E. Rimmasch, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Wasatch Railroad Contractors. Additionally, from the United States, Major-General Courtney Wilson, Chief Executive from the Baltimore Railroad Museum will be addressing the WATTRAIN Congress.

In an exchange of culture, Mr. David Morgan of the National Railway Museum of York, England will be addressing the TRAIN/ARM group in Canada in November.

Steam restoration has become a global concern. From first hand experience, we at Wasatch Railroad Contractors are becoming more and more aware of the fact that our globe is getting smaller and smaller. At the same time, it is becoming ever easier to communicate, share information, and find vendors and suppliers that otherwise would not be available to us or any others.

We encourage the readers of this and other web pages to become active and watch the activities of all three organizations.

Mr. Rimmasch hopes to see many of you in England next week.
