Everyone,

Here is some news from the Morehead and North Fork Railroad at Clearfield.

This past Friday, Oct 5, 2012, the caboose that belongs to the Kentucky Central Chapter NRHS in Paris, was moved to High Bridge Park overlooking the NS mainline near Wilmore, KY.

Also, the Morehead and North Fork Railroad office in Clearfield was bull dozed to the ground. It was falling down anyway and was about to come down on it's own.

So the office is gone, the caboose is gone, #12 got set to Ohio, and the diesels got scrapped.

So is there anything left? Did that old F&N boxcar get sent somewhere?

Kinda sad news to hear since I live in Carter County, close to Morehead. My art teacher is with the M&NF Historical Society. Whats the future for the the society? I wanted to join, just waiting for an extra $10 (last membership amount I heard) to come my way.

The box car is still in Clearfield and there is some movement behind the scenes to preserve it.

The Morehead and North Fork Railroad Historial Society is going strong and can use members. They are restoring a C&O caboose for display and are working on getting a spot in town to display it.

Oh ok, I misunderstood. I thought that the caboose the M&NF Historical Society were restoring was the one that got moved to Wilmore, KY. Around the end the of the month I get my membership dues sent to my Art teacher, I'd mention his name but I'm not sure if he'd like it. But regardless, I hope all goes well.
