The Syracuse Post Standard has posted a Sunday, October 21, 2012, article about the closing of the Rail City Historical Museum, "a museum of a museum" about Rail City, the first steam-operating railroad museum in the United States. Here's the link to the article: Syracuse.com: Oswego County's Rail City, once a museum to steam-operated railroading, is a shadow of itself |

This article reads like a sequel to the story of the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, although it's actually a prequel. Point is, if we don't tell a story, have a narrative that interests the public, and captures their imagination, we are all headed for this same end. |

So can I assume in a few years we'll hear of the "Rail City Historical Museum" Museum? Like Dennis already well posted, if your museum draws the overwhelming public cry of, "who cares?", you're doomed. Frankly, I thought the idea of a museum dedicated to a defunct museum was, by definition, a downright silly idea. |
