The Boone & Scenic Valley RR located in Boone, Iowa is in the process of trying to purchase the last remaining CGW 200 series tank car. Four out of five have already been scrapped and this is possibly the last one left still in full CGW livery complete with the CGW "Lucky Strike" logo. Please consider donating to this cause by sending your donation to: Boone & Scenic Valley RR 225 10th Street Boone, IA 50036 1-800-626-0319 The Boone & Scenic Valley RR thanks you in advance. dmgrefe@dwx.com |

The Illinois Railway Museum is restoring CGW 901, a steel, cupola caboose and it made some extra "Lucky Strike" logos for sale as a fund raiser. As I recall, they are 27" in diameter. IRM's Freight Car Depratment should still have a few left. You may want to stockpile a set for the future restoration of your tank car. The hack was moved last week to a track where the exterior is to be blasted and then painted the CGW's purplish-maroon. fred_ash@bankone.com |

Anyone know if this car was saved? Haven't heard anything since the initial post.
