As of this evening at 8:30 pm, steamlocomotive.info now has photos of eight thousand (8002 actually) different steam locomotives. We passed the 7000 mark in July of 2011. Many thanks to Ken Livermore of the UK who has contributed massively to the site in recent months.

The first image I clicked on from the left side of the title page is incorrect.

Beyer-Garratt NG/G16 127 is at the Puffing Billy Railway in Australia.

Always appreciate corrections, no matter what form they come in. Locomotive's location has been changed as suggested.

Thank you for doing this work. I was quickly looking to see if I could add to the information base with photographs, but it appears that while you list the number of locomotives without photos, there is no way to easily get a list of those locomotives if someone was interested in adding a photo. Is there a way you could get locomotives without photos to list in a search without your doing a great deal more work?

Quick note: You can mark Soo Line No. 1003's status as operational.

Paul, yes, I think I can do that. I just have to figure out a way to do it so that it will look good. I'll start on that this evening.

Updated the database as requested. (When you update the database, the website automagically updates itself).

Paul, I finished the programming to do this last night, but didn't have time to fully test it before needing to read bedtime stories to tiny granddaughter. Will test the code out late this afternoon, and if testing goes okay, will make it publicly available this evening.

Okay...the code is tested and inplace. The output isn't terribly pretty, but it works. To see a list of locomotives in a given country, just click on the Library button in steamlocomotive.info, then select Locomotives Without Photos. You'll be asked to select a country, and then the list of locomotives without photos for that country will be generated for you.

Congratulations on the 8000!

I just did a search on the builder Kitson to see if any of the Leek & Manifold Valley light railway cousins survive.

Yep! Bauchi Light Railway No. B56(B55) 0-6-2. But no picture is present.

Luckily, teh Googlz found a picture as quick as you could say Jack Robinson.

Interestingly, the Bagnall Number 5 looks more similar to The L&MVLR locomotives.
