Post subject:  American Freedom Train 2002?

After going thru the Artrain exhibit today in Hillsboro OR, it hit me that this could be the closest thing to a recreated American Freedom Train that we might ever see again. Once again the AFT painted 4449 pulls a display train of national treasures for the public to enjoy. Granted it's only four cars long and clad in stainless steel, but it's what is inside the Artrain that makes this a special event. Original works by Norman Rockwell, Peter Max, Andy Warhol, the list goes on. Everything inside the train was very well done, and the staff very friendly.

If you have the chance to come to Hillsboro, the 4449 and Artrain will be on display thru the 4th of July. See the schedule on www.orhf.org. The biggest 4th of July parade is a few blocks from the display sight. If you want to use up some flier miles, you can take two connecting light rail trains right from the airport to the display sight. We've already met at least one person who came from Germany just for this event!

Hope to see you there!
