It was brought to my attention that Lindsay Publications is closing up and selling out their inventory. Seeing that they offer some nice reprints of steam shop and mechanical books, I thought some here would be interested to know in case there were some items they had not added to their collection just yet. This may be your last chance.

That's a damn shame. Someone should get the publishing rights and put them out on digital form... Kindle, iBooks etc. The revenue model is rather different from paper, with virtually no business risk, and a fellow could do it in his spare bedroom, or heck, just on his PC.

Publishing rights for books that will never return to print, are worth $0. So anything's an improvement.

Did they actually ship all of them? I mean a seller can list anything... but they can't ship what they can't get.

I really don't know about getting the product, however I do know I was a little frustrated after placing my order with Lindsay.

Being in need of what I ordered sometime in the next year or so and no sooner than that, I hadn't searched for any of these books yet.

However finding them, and finding that they were going out of buisness I waided thru all the comments about how unhappy Mr. Lyndsay is with all the last minute orders.
I selected from a list of books that was updated 11/28 and pushed send. The next page claims that I will get a confirmation email to confirm reciept of my order in the next 1-3 days if they decided to fill it at all, and a link to where to get these books now that he is retiring. Plus it highlighted the nicer website and the faster turn around time.
I could have been spared a lot and just gone to the old time books website and ordered from there.

I find it very confussing....
