Looking for a drawing for 80" brake shoes. A drawing for a smaller shoe should work though, just change the radius. The shoes are for a Santa fe Class 3751. The are different from the 2900s and 3776 classes. The 80" shoes we have are marked A12 if that is any help.

Has anyone made shoes and left the steel spine out. If so what did you do for the loop where the key slides in? if the spine is left out will the shoes possible brake apart easily, possibly losing pieces in the gear? These are flanged shoes.

It seems to me there was a production run of large driver brake shoes done just a few years ago. Seems as though UP, 261 and possibly 4449 folks got together to drop the per unit price and to meet the minimum for the foundry to even touch the production. The V552 brake shoes cannot accommodate an 80"+ diameter.

Cheers, Jason
