Apparently there is a serious opportunity for someone who wants to restore a narrow gauge wood carbody. A gentleman in Reno has preserved a Nevada California Oregon RR railway post office car body, and it has been in covered storage for some 15 years. It originated on the Florence and Cripple Creek RR in Colorado. It is available to anyone (or museum) with a demonstrated interest and ability to preserve historic equipment.
My contact with the seller/donor indicated he is open to help in finding a home for this car.

Very interesting. It's amazing that things like this still pop up every now and then. I hope it ends up in a good home.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Mr. Anderson first posted this information to the NGDF on the 17th. He added another post today to the thread this morning and it is now setting on page 2.

I sent a link to the NGDF post to the Curator of Collections at the Nevada State Railroad Museum. I have not heard back from my correspondent; but, I hope they consider the possibility of adding it to the collection that has one of the F&CC/N-C-O coach bodies.

Unfortunately, all of us in the preservation world are stressed between our preservation desires and the reality of having appropriate storage space and the resources required to accomplish our goals/missions.

Perhaps Colorado Historical Society would find it worth including in their small collection of native passenger cars stored at Silver Plume........but where they would fit it in is another question.
