John Gould, a frequent visitor to http://www.steamlocomotive.into provided us with information concerning Ferrocarril del Sur 2-8-2 No. 81 in Golfito, Costa Rica. We hadn't previously known about this locomotive and were happy to add it to our database. More information at: http://steaminfo.wordpress.com |

This, and the recent "discovery" by Mr. Gould of a slightly newer sister Mike (#84), are a very nice pre-Christmas present! Les |

The word in the middle of the logo is "Northern".. and some googling shows its lettered for the "Costa Rica Northern" railroad. but yes, it seems pretty clear the logo on the side of the cab was inspired by the C&NW logo..
