The L&N U-Boat discussion really gave me pause.
I have one of the two Budd Phoebe Snow diner cars. It is in rough cosmetic, but quite restorable condition, after 20 plus years with the Strait Bros. Shows.
I have advertised on the web on the Reading Tech page, and I have made contacts with both of the groups that ought to want it (in Scranton and in New Jersey) All I have gotten is a big yawn, and I am willing to be quite negotiable as to the price to a proper home.
But if I don't find someone serious soon, I will have to sell it as a good solid Budd shell to someone who will tunnel it for a dinner train or other similar adaptave use. I almost made it one of the shells for the Artrain display train I just built. I am simply not financially able at this point of my life to just give it away to some "worthy" group.
I don't believe it is fair to carp about something "historic" going away without knowing the whole story.
Steve
SZuidervee@aol.com |
