Behind the reception desk at the Hampton Inn & Suites on Pratt Rd in Knoxville, TN, there is a large picture of WWV NYC 9669. If you ask about the picture, they offer to let you read a one page detailed history of the locomotive and Whitewater Valley. I wonder if anyone at WWV knows that their marketing has successfully extended to Knoxville, TN. -Mark P.S. I forgot to mention that they said a lot of people ask about the picture, and read the page. |

At several Hampton Inns in the Birmingham to Montgomery corridor in Alabama, there is a nice photo of Southern 4501 in many rooms. Got very familiar when I spent about 35 days of last May and June there. |

Many WVRR members have ran across the 9339 picture in various motels across the country. It came as a very big surprise the first time but now has turned into somewhat of a competition to see who can find one the furthest from home. It's very flattering to be standing at a counter checking in and looking up to see one of the locos from your group displayed on the wall. www.whitewatervalleyrr.org |
