I just couldn't resist... Quote: The Inquistr reported Monday that a Pennsylvania Railroad calendar arrived at its intended destination on Friday with just one flaw – the Postal Service delivered it 63 years late. Full article here: http://www.examiner.com/article/pennsyl ... years-late |

But there is a story behind the story: "Howard Rue planned to frame the 1950 Pennsylvania Railroad calendar he purchased on eBay. But when the package arrived at his suburban Chicago home in November, the shipping tube was damaged and the calendar was missing." http://thetimes-tribune.com/news/1950-r ... -1.1425006 The original tube, still sealed and with the original addressing and postage, came loose from inside the shippers tube. Even though the calendar had been delivered by the US Post Office originally, the Postal Service did what it was supposed to do if it found cancelled mail in its system... even if it was 1950 postage rate! |

John - Thanks very much for posting this. The USPS takes a bum rap for a lot of things, and in this case, should be given a pat on the back. This story is actually BETTER than what was first reported as happening! Les |
