The recent discussion initiated by Gary Landrio about finding young employees and intern programs gives me cause to mention the upcoming Association of Railway Museums Convention in Dallas October 23-27. One of the seminars describes the very successful internship program at the Age of Steam RR Museum (operated by SRHS) and gives advice on how to do the same in your neck of the woods. This is going to be a good seminar, and you'll see the results of a good internship program when you visit the RR Museum and meet the staff. Thursday, October 24, 2002 Seminar I 9:15 - 10:30 Title: Academia & Preservation: A study in symbiosis. - Creating partnerships with local Colleges and Universities to develop internships and resource sharing.
