Does anyone know the current location/status of T&P business car ELLESMERE(#5). Car was built in 1914 for private owner, acquired by T&P in 1920, donated to a Fort Worth Museum in 1961, ceded to a private museum in 1970, the Pate Museum of Transportation in Cresson, TX.(A large private collection of planes, cars, and at least one railroad car) Pate Museum closed in 2009. The Ellesmere disappeared before that. I have heard that its on a farm just down the road, or its in Arizona as part of real estate development that went bad. Has anyone actually seen it lately? |

Greg ( and the forum ) I believe based upon photograph comparison, that T&P 5 Ellesmere is at the railroad museum in Boulder City Nevada.... I compared the photographs on line when it was painted T&P, with photographs I recently took of the car a few months ago, and it appears all the features such as the window pattern, platform roof detail, platform details etc etc match up... Not sure about the wood siding in the recent photographs... but nonetheless, it matches in every detail.... Therefore, I believe these photographs, taken in November, are of T&P 5, the Ellesmere... You can do the comparisons and see what you think... Hope this helps All the best Dean Levin
