Some photos of U.S. Potash 2-8-0 No. 1, displayed at Carlsbad, NM. Photos meant for modeling, but show the engine's condition well. Donated to city in 1956. This 3' gauge industrial RR ran into early 1970s, with 6-axle GE diesels. http://photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/slimrails/lst?.dir=/US+Potash+Engine+-+Carlsbad+NM&.src=gr&.order=&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/slimrails/lst%3f.dir=/US%2bPotash%2bEngine%2b-%2bCarlsbad%2bNM%26.src=gr%26.view=t ryarger@rypn.org |

A sister engine is now on display at Furnace Creek Ranch on the floor of Death Valley. The railroad never got into the valley itself. A third steam engine from US Potash (#3) is part of the collection of the Southern California Chapter R&LHS. This is an outside-frame, deckless engine that once ran at Morinci Arizona.
