I'm looking for some info on the 2002 TRAIN Convention. I do know it's supposed to be hosted by the Durango and Silverton in November. Does anyone know where to get the story on it? Please do not suggest www.train.org as I have been there already.

Thanks,

G. Mark

I may have answered my own question. A check of the D&S website revealed the following:

11/4/2002 - TRAIN Convention

Tourist Railway Association, Inc. annual convention. pre-convention and spouse activities, workshops, guest speakers. For schedule details log onto www.durangotrain.com. For convention reservations call 1-800-828-4228.

Hope to see you there.....

...Does anyone know what's going on with TRAIN? I can't remember the last time we received a copy of the TrainLine newsletter, the www.train.org web site seems to have vanished, and we haven't heard any other communication from them. Usually we've received the annual convention information in the mail by now.

Try this link:
http://www.traininc.org/

This is the new website site for TRAIN. From the comments read here and my own fustration several weeks ago it seems that TRAIN made no effort to have the old url re-direct to the new url.

Let's hope so or at least the equivalent. The Tennessee Delegation was treated to an evening at the Publix while in Savannah for Angel and Rudd's wedding....

BTW Marty, do you still have John Bush up there with you?

No Mark, we only had him here a week or so. Last I heard he was in California, right on the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Well that is kinda dumb. Train.org is simple, easy to remember and direct. Why would you replace that URL with traininc? I hope this isn't the kind of decisionmaking that prevails at TRAIN.

This is not confirmed, but I think that the registry for www.train.org expired and was not noticed, and I believe someone else bought it up and held it for ransom. I would like to know if anyone knows this is definitely the case, as a forwarding would have been nice.
