Atlantic Coast Line once ordered some passenger car shells from Pullman-Std. One of those became their coach 250 (not the original 250 which was an observation car that was destroyed in a wreck.) There are reports of these shells being built in 1949-50 and others in 1954. This no. 250 became a 54 seat coach that ran on ACL, SCL and Amtrak before going to C&NW's executive train in the 1980's where it may have been converted to a lounge car. Does anyone have any knowledge of the C&NW re-build of this car and how extensive their re-building was? Thanks for any answers. -Jim Herron |

Yep, that's it. Thanks. However, I'd still like to find more detail about the C&NW re-building of the car. -JH |
