Post subject:  Using College Service Fraternity - Volunteer Work?

Has anyone at various museums considered using (or has used in the past) a local college service fraternity to do some volunteer work at your organization? I'm speaking more towards a group like Alpha Phi Omega...my wife is an APO alumni, so I have an idea of some of the things they do/look for.

In this day and age where more and more volunteer work is wanted/needed, and a youth movement is growing, why not reach out to this group of young people to see if they have interest in doing a service project with your museum/railroad? Work for a day on a beautification project, painting something, or some smaller day-long project...maybe get a few people interested in returning for regular help.

I'm curious to see if anyone has tried or currently uses a group like this...if not, I'd suggest reaching out to your local APO chapter and opening a dialogue. With more than 400,000 members on over 375 campuses across the country, you're bound to find a few volunteers.
