Re: the recent discussion of the 2-8-2 at Astoria, Oregon, which is under extensive overhaul. Found this page about its last days on the Santa Maria Valley RR in California.

Incidently, the group that posted this website is constructing a model railroad accurately depicting the SMV and other area railroads, for public display in a museum. Numerous photos of their efforts are to be seen. A worthwhile historical endeavor that elevates model railroading above its usual "playing with trains" public image.
