"Equipment" could be anything from computers and cash registers to a locomotive.

Would anyone care to report an actual list of missing stuff, in generalities or specifics?

Welding machine stolen from Wanamaker tour railroad in Berks
January 28, 2014|By Frank Warner, Of The Morning Call

An industrial welding machine was stolen this month from a tourist railroad in northeastern Berks County, police said.

The Miller brand welder was taken between Jan. 10 and Jan. 19 from the Wanamaker, Kempton & Southern Railroad in Albany Township, state police at Hamburg said.

Police said the thief had to enter the railroad yard through its south gate on Community Center Drive.

A welding machine can cost between $4,000 and $13,000.

The railroad specializes in family outings on trains with vintage locomotives and rail cars.

Police asked that anyone with information on the welder theft contact police at 610-562-6885.

If all that was stolen was the welder, then it would appear that they stole something that's easy to sell/fence.

A theft is never good, but at least in this case, they stole an item that will also be easy to replace, rather than locomotive parts or wiring or journal brass and the like that costs far more to replace than it's worth as scrap.
