Funny, I was just in Jersey City this past Monday looking at that engine thru the fence...

From what I recall this may be a former unit of the New York Cross Harbor Railroad. I don't think it is used any longer, but I could be wrong. The unit was in the exact same place on 2/18/2013.... I did not see any other engines used by SIMS while there but I have to think they may have something else to shift the hopper cars they fill with scrap metal.

Just a little down the road is the Port Jersey Railroad. They have a caboose too, but could not get a good photo of it.

From the photo info it says its an ex Southern NW-2
