The Midwest Railway Preservation Society is having an Open House at the B&O Roundhouse 2800 W.3rd St. Cleveland on Sat. 5/9 from Noon until 4PM and the donation is $5.00 per person. Cleveland is celebrating National Train Day at the Amtrak station on Sat. 5/9 also. That evening we wll be having a night photo shoot from 8PM until 11PM and the donation for that will be $20.00 which will help cover the cost of professional lighting. We plan to have a freight train consisting of period freight cars with our RS3 and a passenger train consisting of our two NKP day coaches and the Mount Baxter with two of the ex-MARC E units set up for photo opportunities. These will not be operating trains, only stationary for photos. As of right now, the 2100 is still enroute to Cleveland and it was reported in Decatur, Il this morning 5/5/15. If( and that is a big IF) the 2100 makes it to Cleveland and is on the roundhouse property by Sat. 5/9 then plans for the two trains will obviously change at the last minute.

I encourage everyone to come out and support Midwest and 4070. It will be a great opportunity even though 2100 will not be there in time. This will allow you to see who is behind the scenes and talk with us about 4070, 2100 and 1352.

Does the Midwest Railway Preservation Society own the former PRR E8s now?

Midwest Railway does not own the four E units, (two ex PRR and two ex IC). MRPS has access to them with permission from the owner.

2100 arrived in Bellevue at 08:43 Wed.5/6 morning. It could go out on train 364 from Bellevue to Rockport Yard tonight. After that there will be at least three moves from Rockport to the MRPS property.

Yeah 2100 and her tenders are still at Bellevue and were when i got off work there today 5/9 around noon. I've been by them every night since Wed. after yarding trains in the A-yard and putting power away as i'm a engineer on a 3rd trick roust about job for the time being. 2100 was sandwiched in between a couple other high wide loads with a army tank on a flat at the east end of the track it's on. Havn't really heard much about it in the yard from other workers other than the usual "have you seen that steamer and tenders on the flat cars?" Most guy's don't know what kind of engine it is or what RR it was even from or where it's going.

I've put power on the 364 a few times as it's usually called out between 3am - 9am each day. I also have a son-in-law that's a conductor in the BS Bellevue short pool wich gets train 364 but they have 3 crews that rotate in turn getting different trains. If he gets it i'm sure i'll hear all about it! For right now 2100 is starting to look like a regular in the yard.

It looks like 2100 will not be leaving Bellevue until the middle or end of this week. The availablity of the lifting jacks is the determining factor.

2100 made it to Rockport yard, near the Cleveland airport, yesterday.

2100 is sitting on the last Southside track at Rockport closest to I 480 and it is visible from the highway. It may move to Campbell Road yard on Monday or Tuesday. When it arrives on the Midwest Railway roundhouse property we will probably start a "closed gate policy" due to the problems created by folks wandering onto our site. Up until now MRPS had an open door walk in policy but we think that will have to change at least for a while.
