Just a short update, i have been building new roof overhang supports, quite the challenge for my wood working skills ! But the results look great and fit well, the arch will be offered up soon after having its missing ends replaced and the whole thing bolted and screwed back into place, then the roof can be finished on this end. Sherwin Williams did another fabulous job of paint matching (they did my awfully tricky Pullman Green) and we have caboose interior light and dark green and exterior red. Now we need the weather to behave. Mike Pannell

Like too many others, I tend to overfocus on the other end of a train, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what you do and how well you get things to come out. I have to ask, though, how do you handle such a full plate? An ancient passenger car, this caboose, some other freight cars in the works, and now a bus, too! Where do you get the time, or do you have the luxury of being retired? (I'm not there yet, that's why I'm asking. . .and am looking forward to joining that club in about five years. Hrummph! Five years! Ugh!) |

Well i am not retired (only 47) but i have an ideal job situation really in that i do Janitorial work year round in the evenings, in the winter its snow plowing only, and in the summer i work for a company that spray lawns and trees and thats mornings only really, my wife is an RN (i.e. the clever one) and so many days are completely free. I am also the installation/ manager for the UC&N narrow gauge model railroad at the Cheyenne Depot Museum and a board member. So i have plenty of time, be nice to have a few more volunteers though.
