Does anyone know if there is any available video, photos and/or slides of the last runs of the "Bug Line" branch of the Milwaukee Road which ran between Granville and North Lake, Wisconsin? This would have been, I believe, in early 1977. If so, how can I get dupes?
Thanks, Chris Barney

You may want to look for the book " It's Train Time!" The Story of the Bug Line, By Robert Duerwachter. There are pictures of the line from early on into the 70's. There is also a little section on the KMRY.

I was rather familiar with the last 4 miles of the line when I was an engineer on the KMRY. While reading Robert's book I found the history of the line rather interesting.

You could also search RR picture sites by location, e.g.,

Thanks, Mike and Marty - I actually picked up the 'Bug Line' book a few weeks ago, and it is a great book! I was kind of hoping I could score a few dupe slides of the line during one of its last runs, to show at my monthly local transit group meeting in West Allis. I'll check out those rail photo sites...
Mike, do you know if Steven Butler ever lets anyone look at the KMRY #9 engine still stored in North Lake? I would love to shoot a few slides of that to also show at one of our meetings. I have just started an email correspondence with Steven but was a little hesitant to ask that question. I did ask him if he had any KMRY ball caps left and he said he didn't, so I am out of luck in that area. Thanks again to both of you for replying!

Chris,

It would be up to Steven to let you in. The locomotive still looks the same, nothing has been done since she was put in the shed.
