Looking for a picture of what is written along her tender flanks. It is just below the flange of her oil bunker. Every picture I find comes close, but not close enough to make it out.
If anyone would happen to have a shot of it and if you could graciously post it, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

It's loaded (246,000? lbs) and light (110,000? lbs) weights, IIRC. I'll get a photo on Saturday.

That's a great photo of S.P. 2472 at Niles! This may be when she was on display for a special Railway Mail Service event with U.P. 5901, the post office car that was part of the City of San Francisco "snowbound streamliner" in 1952. It looks like Garrett Brisbee is firing the locomotive.

This year S.P. 2472 will operate Easter weekend (March 30-31), Memorial Day weekend (May 25-27), and Labor Day weekend (Aug 30,Sept 2). More details at www.ggrm.org Trips include a photo runby at a secluded scenic location in the canyon. The canyon has plenty of curves and grades where passengers can really see and hear S.P. 2472 working upgrade.
