Thanks for the link. Check out the former Algoma Central F-units under “locomotives for sale.” Actually, better still, don’t. And don’t let anyone else know! The Fs should go to a Canadian museum, but more than likely will end up on some U.S. tourist line. That’s the trouble with the Canadian peso — Canadian institutions simply cannot compete for artifacts such as this (when they’ll probably fetch $30G-plus). That’s my two cents worth (roughly equal to one Canadian dollar!). Kevin > Hello- > Found this on the CN site. Wow, those are some very nice looking F units. Can someone keep an eye on this sale and see where these go? I'd hate to see the vultures get them but anything is possible. I saw that the auction is to be held on the 11th. If anyone knows where these locomotives are sold off to, I would appreciate them letting me know. I have a soft spot in my heart for the old round nosed first generation diesels, they're what I grew up with. This pair and accompanying B units are gorgeous. I'd like to keep track of them, in hopes of maybe seeing them up close and personal someday. Thanks, -Angie Ladypardus@cs.com |
