Post subject:  Insurance

Hello all. I am president of the Beaver Valley Junction Chapter of the NRHS. Our chapter is in the process of expanding our insurance coverage to a higher level. To say that insurance costs are out of sight would be a understatement. I was wondering if anyone would know, is there a insurance company that tailors it's insurance to "non-profit" organizations or do most all rail related museums just work with a insurance carrier or agent that is convenient to their locale?
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

> There are two companies that specialize in insurance for museums and tourist operations they are:

McRail: Bob McCarthy 1-800-486-6984
HMBD Mike Deeble 1-800-272-4594

Both firms can get a full range of coverages for liability and can also get vehicle, workers comp and other insurances if needed.

There maybe some local companies (to you) involved but typically everyone goes to the same carriers to secure quotes. And a local company that doesn't do this as their primary line probably will not do as good a job leading you through the maze.
